Subcontractors Trade Association Safety and Young Professionals Groups

The chief executive officer of WDF, Inc., Lawrence Roman is an experienced professional in the construction industry working in Mount Vernon, NY. Lawrence “Larry” Roman has earned several awards, such as the LIFE builder award and a subcontractor of the year award, and he is also engaged with professional circles, holding memberships with the New York Building Foundation and the Subcontractors Trade Association (STA).

STA is a NY-based association created in 1966 to represent union subcontractors and affiliated professionals working in the construction industry. The association provides several member services that simplify their lives, such as industry representation, a safety group, legislative advocacy, and a young professionals group.

Besides providing cost-saving professional services and educational programs, the safety group for STA members offers an opportunity to save money with reduced workers’ compensation costs. The upfront savings can be as high as 25 percent plus additional year-end dividends.

The young professionals group is for STA members up to age 39 who want to network and gain exposure within the New York City construction industry. It features several group meetings and events throughout the year that focus on building relationships with other professionals and meeting the STA leadership, among other opportunities.
